James Vallone

James Vallone, executive VP of Motion Recruitment, a provider of IT staffing solutions, has a goal to disrupt the industry. “I want people to think of Motion when they think of tech staffing and choose us because we are different,” he says. As an engineering major, Vallone might describe his journey in staffing as serendipitous, but his path over the past 17 years is anything but. Vallone’s career started as an entry level recruiter within Motion before he rapidly ascended to lead coast-to-coast on teams, offices and regions across the US.

In 2013, this field work led him back to corporate headquarters in Boston to spearhead the launch of Motion’s Temp IT staffing business. Under Vallone, this program experienced explosive growth, increasing 60% year over year its first three years - and continuing to sustain outstanding growth rates of 20% year over year since, even at a much larger scale of revenue.

Vallone attributes much of that success to working alongside Motion executives to develop its unique hybrid approach to the temp and perm tech talent communities, as well as developing dedicated Enterprise Business Development and Enterprise Talent Services functions. Today, Motion’s temp IT staffing business successfully competes with the top 10 staffing providers in North America. “I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished in the business over the past six years,” says Vallone, “and we won’t stop until Motion Recruitment is a household name.”
