CEO Allison Robinson founded The Mom Project in 2016 while on maternity leave with her oldest son. She had come across an eye-opening stat from Harvard Business Review: 43% of American women leave the workforce after having children. Imagining a future where women wouldn’t have to make a choice between family and career, Robinson set out to find a real solution.

The Mom Project is a digital talent marketplace that seamlessly connects talented women with companies eager for their skills and experience. By supporting a range of work types - part-time, freelance, full-time, contract, contingent - with companies that understand the critical nature of the mission, The Mom Project ensures that parents, careers and companies can all thrive simultaneously. “People are our priority and our No. 1 asset at The Mom Project - and the reason our model works so well for companies and candidates,” Robinson says.

Robinson is extremely proud of the company’s tremendous growth over the last four years, and says she is motivated by The Mom Project’s mission to build a better workplace for everyone, by connecting incredible talent with rewarding opportunities. “There are so many untapped sources of talent, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of us,” she says. As more companies embrace remote work, Robinson intends for The Mom Project to remain a leader in this ever-changing landscape with the creation of its WerkLabs analytics platform.
