Julie Olson

Julie Olson says her passion has always been about mentoring others, understanding what motivates them and what their personal goals are.

“If you care about people you become invested in them,” Olson says. “I love when people are excited and motivated. That goes equally for my colleagues, our candidates and clients.”

Working to help people is one of the things that attracted her to staffing. The industry offered her a way to make an impact on one of the most important aspects of a person’s life - getting a job.

Today, Olson heads up Genuent’s Talent Solutions division as managing director, The Talent Path. She has worked her way up the corporate ladder, managing a $40 million portfolio in her last role.

The Talent Path, a recently added program for Genuent, that helps to close the IT skills gap by providing last-mile training in a range of in-demand technologies to college graduates. Olson hopes that the program eliminates friction for candidates by providing free training and a guaranteed job, and its temp-to-perm model eliminates hiring friction for employers. The company is partnering with universities and clients to place tens of thousands of students in good first IT jobs in the next few years.

Olson also enjoys the music scene in her home city of Austin, Texas, and has even written a guide to the city.
