JobGet acquired Wirkn, a recruiting platform with ATS, the ability for employers to create branded job sites and other functionality. Wirkn focuses on retail business at malls and other shopping centers.

The acquisition will enable JobGet to offer a frontline solution to more employers and job seekers. Wirkn serves a network of more than 17,000 mall, retail and restaurant locations.

“Wirkn has a unique foothold on shopping centers and malls as well as a strong presence in Canada,” JobGet CEO Tony Liu said in a statement to SIA. “As JobGet continues to grow internationally as well as focus on hyperlocal plays, this was an opportune time for JobGet to make the acquisition.”

Wirkn began in 2015 in Montreal.

“This is great news for our customer base,” Wirkn CEO Mathieu Weber said. “The synergies from this acquisition will greatly benefit our mall partners and broader employer ecosystem by providing more reach for their job postings.”

Weber will remain with the company as an advisor. In addition, the Wirkn brand will remain for the foreseeable future.

JobGet is based in Boston and produces an app for hiring hourly workers. Its clients include Avis, Whole Foods and Lovesac.

The deal closed on May 24. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
