Italy’s Senate approves law targeting temporary work and offshoring.

Italy’s Senate in August approved a decree to increase limits on temporary contracts and penalise firms that move production offshore. Because it was already approved by Italy’s upper house as well as the Chamber of Deputies, the so-called “dignity decree” is now law. Its intent is to increase job security and bring down Italy’s double-digit unemployment rate.

UK workers optimistic in face of tech changing jobs landscape.

A new study from YouGov found that approximately 6 million workers across the UK fear robots will take over their jobs. The findings showed 23% of employees polled in the survey of 1,095 workers are worried their current post may no longer be needed. However, 73% were confident they will be able to update their skills if new technology affects their job and 53% were optimistic about their future working life.
