The Buzz: Beyond Matching
Main Article
Recruiting is, at its core, a business built on relationships. The best recruiters build a rapport with candidates and clients and focus on high-touch and high-value interactions. But how can recruiters spend more of their time engaging with individuals? SourceBreaker, a UK-headquartered company, thinks it has the answer.
“We want to automate as much of the recruitment process as possible,” says Adam Dale, commercial director at SourceBreaker, a machine learning-driven, search and matching SaaS technology for recruiters.
Operating since 2016, SourceBreaker finds recruiters quality candidates across existing customer relationship management platforms (including Bullhorn and Salesforce), CV databases, LinkedIn and social media and matches them to multiple live vacancies and provides multiple opportunities to place every candidate.
By utilizing SourceBreaker to automate specific and often repetitive tasks, recruiters can complete work far more quickly and accurately. The platform frees up recruiters’ time, enabling them to focus on personal interactions and high-value work that is difficult to automate. “We are working toward a point where recruiters will start the day with prescheduled calls with candidates, arranged via the platform, which will maximize their time engaging candidates, rather than searching and matching,” Dale claims.
The platform provides an average return on investment within one to two months, according to the firm, and typically saves recruiters 30 to 60 minutes per day. Priced on an SaaS basis, the product costs $12,000 for a base of 10 users and $99 per user per month thereafter, with discounts for clients depending on the length of the contract. It is differentiated from other offerings primarily in two ways. First, it is focused on professional staffing sectors including IT, healthcare and finance and accounting, which gives the platform the nuance necessary to make better inferences. Second, the company claims that as search is what it does, its search functionality exceeds that of any parsing company.
Following significant growth in the UK - the company now employs over 50 people and annual revenue exceeds $4 million - it has turned its sights on the US market. With 55 US staffing firm clients under its belt as of this writing, the company is looking to open its first physical location in the US in Boston at the beginning of 2020.
