Solize USA announced that a subsidiary has acquired Racar Canada in an asset purchase that closed Feb. 17. Solize USA is part of Japan-based Solize, a 30-year-old global provider of engineering solutions and staffing with operations in the US, India, China, Thailand and other areas. Racar Canada, based in Ontario, also provides engineering solutions and staffing.
The acquisition gives Solize a presence in Canada.
“We want to bring the variety and the talent so that the customers have a great option, they have a different price point,” Bharath Mani, senior VP for sales and operations, said in an interview with SIA. “That is some of the value we want to create for our customers in North America.”
Mani discussed the acquisition in an interview with SIA along with US CEO Tsutomu Yoshii.
Approximately 70% of Solize’s business is in the automotive industry. It staffs several types of engineering specialties as well as other skills.
“This acquisition strengthens our support [and] technology solutions and presents a unified approach to complex engineering challenges,” the company said in a press release.
Terms of the transaction were not released.
