MedSource Travelers, a healthcare staffing firm headquartered in Safety Harbor, Florida, announced it completed a merger with Austin, Texas-based Onyx Health Care Staffing.

Onyx Health Care Staffing provides travel nurse and allied healthcare staffing as well as perm placement. It is led by Partner and CEO Paul Gunnoe, who will continue on as a partner and CEO of MedSource Travelers.

MedSource Travelers, founded in 2001 by Terry Sullivan, also provides nursing and allied staffing as well as perm placement. It has expertise in the cardiac specialty space and thousands of clients nationwide.

“With the continued growing demand for nurse and allied healthcare professionals, this merger expands our national footprint and ability to continue to timely meet the needs of our partner-clients,” Gunnoe said in a press release.

The transaction closed on June 15, and Onyx was merged into MedSource Travelers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Both MedSource Travelers and Onyx have a national footprint with a strong geographic presence in both the Southeast and the West Coast.
