AMN taps leader for dual CFO and COO role

AMN Healthcare Services (NYSE: AMN) looked back to the future to fill its new dual chief financial officer/chief operating officer role. The healthcare staffing firm announced Oct. 3 that it appointed Brian Scott to the role effective Nov. 21.
Scott previously served as CFO at AMN from January 2011 through August 2021. He spent a total of 17 years at the San Diego-based company, after first joining in 2003.
“I am excited to welcome Brian back to AMN,” President and CEO Cary Grace said in a press release. “As we focus on enhancing operational excellence and delivering strong financial returns, Brian brings a deep knowledge of AMN, significant industry expertise, and an impressive track record in financial and capital management to the CFO/COO role.”
While away from AMN, Scott most recently served as CFO at fast food restaurant company Jack in the Box. His last day at that firm is Nov. 20. Jack in the Box is based in San Diego and operates 2,200 restaurants across 21 states. Its brands are Jack in the Box and Del Taco.
At AMN, Scott will oversee the healthcare staffing firm’s finance and enterprise operating functions.
“I am honored to return to AMN in this newly expanded CFO/COO role,” Scott said in a press release. “While the industry landscape continues to be dynamic, this business is well-positioned to capitalize on the opportunities ahead. I am confident AMN will continue to distinguish itself in the market through the diversification of its business portfolio and strategic technology investments.”
Previously, AMN announced the current CFO Jeffrey Knudson will step down following the release of the its third-quarter earnings report on Nov. 7. Knudson joined AMN as CFO and treasurer in November 2021.
