SIA has named the five up-and-coming staffing technology companies to compete in its “Shark Tank”-style contest at September’s Collaboration in the Gig Economy conference in Dallas. The companies will have a chance to pitch their unique offerings in front of expert judges, competing for bragging rights and SIA publicity.

The five finalists that will compete during this year’s event are:

Cents: A platform that provides technology that enables companies to pay W-2 employees on a daily basis, improving employee recruitment and allowing them to compete with the gig economy.

Glyde: A platform that uses AI to improve the candidate experience at the top of the funnel, reducing advertising spend and delivering strong ROI on the human effort saved.

Alpharun: An AI voice interview platform that runs dynamic screening interviews with candidates at infinite scale while providing a positive candidate experience.

MHAYA.ai: A top-of-funnel job-candidate matching tool utilizing responsible AI practices to mitigate bias and bolster DE&I.

Yardstik: A background screening platform designed to run fewer background checks while still properly vetting candidates.

“While the pace of hiring may have cooled in 2024, there has been no such slowdown in the pace of innovation seeking to disrupt traditional hiring processes,” said SIA Research Director Brian Wallins. “Participation interest for Collaboration Shark Tank approached record levels in this year’s competition, with 29 technology innovators nominated. It will be fascinating to see how our esteemed group of guest judges evaluate this year’s cohort of finalists, each of which deliver unique ideas for solving a wide range of problems.”

The panel, “Collaboration Shark Tank: Technology Innovation Competition,” takes place at 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 18 at the Collaboration in the Gig Economy conference.
