Total talent acquisition goes well beyond a focus on traditional employment and helps companies consider the full range of nontraditional workers as an integral part of their talent strategy, SIA Chief Analyst Barry Asin writes in Forbes. Nontraditional workers include independent contractors, temporary workers, consultants, outsourced labor and gig workers. “There are significant benefits in leveraging contingent workers,” Asin writes. “Flexible work arrangements offer organizations better control of labor costs by delivering just-in-time skills and talent when and where work needs completing. Such arrangements can boost productivity and enrich organizations’ talent mix by applying outside expertise in a high-quality manner to accomplish mission-critical tasks.”
