The CSI Companies acquired Anteo Group, an Atlanta-based IT staffing firm. It is the first acquisition for CSI and gives the Jacksonville, Fla.-based company a footprint in Atlanta, the Southeast's largest market, where it also has several clients.The transaction closed Sept. 1 and terms were not disclosed."We carefully evaluated a wide variety of firms nationwide for our first acquisition," said Rafe Sanson, CEO of The CSI Companies.

Ciber Inc. (NYSE: CBR) CFO Claude Pumilia resigned from the Greenwood Village, Colo.-based information technology services company effective today, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.Pumilia is leaving to pursue other interests, according to Ciber. He had served as CFO since 2011.The company's board of directors appointed Michael Lehman to serve as CFO on an interim basis until a suitable permanent replacement is engaged.

The growth rate for information technology jobs slowed in August, according to the TechServe Alliance's IT employment index released Friday. The number of IT jobs rose 0.15 percent from the previous month. They had risen by 0.43 percent in July and 0.51 percent in June, according to previous index readings."Despite the deceleration in the rate of growth, the future for IT employment still remains bright," said TechServe Alliance CEO Mark Roberts.

The number of technology jobs rose more quickly in Boston than Silicon Valley in August, according to the new "SMBeat" report by TriNet, a professional employer organization. Other metro areas with faster job growth than Silicon Valley included New York, Atlanta and the Denver-Boulder area.Tech jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area, home to Silicon Valley, rose by 1.12 percent in August, according to the report.

Eleven percent of U.S. chief information officers plan to add staff to their IT departments in the fourth quarter, according to the Robert Half Technology IT Hiring Forecast and Local Trend Report released today.

System One acquired Joulé Inc., an Edison, N.J.-based staffing firm that ranks No. 97 on Staffing Industry Analysts' list of largest U.S. staffing firms with $114.0 million in U.S. staffing revenue in 2012. The deal closed on Aug. 30; terms of the transaction were not disclosed."Exceptional synergies exist between System One and Joulé," said Troy Gregory, CEO of System One.
