ApTask Consulting LLC, an Edison, N.J.-based information technology staffing company, acquired Rochester Global Ltd., a professional staffing services firm headquartered in London. The acquisition provides ApTask with a physical presence in both the U.K. and Africa and will serve as headquarters for its European and African operations.ApTask counts $25 million in annual revenue and 107 full-time employees globally.

The Affordable Care Act and the push for electronic health records are fueling demand for healthcare information technology staffing firms.

Modis, an information technology staffing division of Adecco S.A., listed the hottest jobs in IT. The list was based on job availability and trends seen through Modis' branch network in the United States."It is a great time to be an IT professional right now because there are so many opportunities across most sectors and skill levels," said Dan Pollock, senior vice president at Modis.

A quarterly survey from specialist IT recruitment site CWJobs.co.uk shows both permanent and contract IT jobs rose across the U.K. during the second quarter of 2013. Permanent placements rose 0.7 percent and contract jobs rose 1.3 percentLondon's "Tech City" initiative is proving successful, and driving established companies and start-ups to set up in the East London area; however, this new data indicates that other clusters of technologies firms in the U.K.
