Nordic, a healthcare consulting and healthcare IT staffing provider based in Madison, Wisconsin, acquired Tasman Global, a healthcare IT consulting firm based in Amsterdam."The addition of Tasman's world-class health IT expertise enables us to expand our reach and provide solutions for the challenges healthcare organizations are experiencing in Europe and Asia," Nordic CEO Jim Costanzo said.Tasman was founded in 2015 by Adrienne Flatland, who will continue to lead the firm.

Staffing Venture Capital, a private investment group, announced an $18.6 million funding round that will enable it to invest in staffing firms with a focus on healthcare staffing.

A survey by NurseGrid, a nationwide network of nurses, found that 85% of nurses are struggling to manage burnout on at least some level.The poll of more than 12,000 nurses took place between Sept. 4 and Sept. 11."It's clear that the nation's nurses are providing patient care in a heroic manner in the face of Covid-19; however, our survey results show that for many nurses, it is coming at a personal cost to them," said Robert A.

Hawaii's Department of Health will spend $14 million to bring in more than 200 additional nurses and other specialists to the state during the next four months to help the state handle the Covid-19 crisis.

A majority of job candidates, 58%, are confident the job market will turn around by the end of the year, according to a poll taken Sept. 4 by jobs website Monster Worldwide."As the job market slowly begins to stabilize, job candidates are showing increased optimism in an economic turnaround in the coming months," Monster CEO Scott Gutz said in a new report.

Longtime staffing industry veteran Seiki "Stan" Hirota died unexpectedly on Aug. 26. Hirota was chairman of the board/president of UHS Partners Inc., a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd. that invests in healthcare staffing, healthcare education and HR tech firms. He was instrumental in bringing global staffing firm Recruit Holdings Ltd.
