Pay rates for registered nurses jumped by 24% year over year amid an increase in demand prompted by the pandemic, according to data released by PRO Unlimited, an MSP and VMS provider. Overall, pay in the healthcare sector rose an average of 19%.

Data from PRO Unlimited also looked at hiring trends. 

The number of healthcare positions filled in California rose by 6% year over year in California while that number doubled in New York and tripled in New Jersey.

Overall hiring activity for large metro areas saw a modest decrease while there was a modest increase in positions filled in smaller cities with a more attractive cost of living and/or weather.
