As the co-founder and vice president of Take2 Consulting, Mark Dever has a number of accomplishments, not the least of which is leading the largest revenue-generating unit of the company - and a team of over 322 employees - to grow by over 44% and exceed its revenue target by $10 million in 2022. He contributed to a 120% growth rate on average year over year for the company since its inception in 2015.
However, Dever is most motivated by building relationships with his staff and watching them grow professionally. Nearly all the employees who were with him at the founding of the company are still at Take2 today - and that doesn’t happen by chance. Dever credits his focus on maintaining a fun and fulfilling work environment. “I want to cultivate people’s strengths and figure out what works for them and what motivates them,” he says. Creating a culture of teamwork, collaboration and peer-to-peer development have been drivers that contribute to a low overall attrition rate and promotions for 40% of Mark’s team over the last two years.
Launching a new company had its challenges, and Dever is the first to say many around him were initially unconvinced that Take2 would be successful. “I have been lucky to have two really good mentors - both were instrumental in me stepping out of my comfort zone,” he explains. Dever’s ability to creatively capitalize on opportunities, connect with those around him, and stay flexible and agile in an ever-changing IT and federal contractor staffing world will continue to lead Dever and Take2 Consulting into a bright future.
