February 20, 2013
Employers hiring new college graduates, on average, take 24.2 business days to extend an offer to a college student after an interview, slightly longer than in 2011, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ 2012 Recruiting Benchmarks Survey. Once an offer has been extended, employers then give the candidate an average of 14.1 business days to make a decision.
In 2011, the length of time was 22.5 days. In 2010, the window was 23.5 days.
The survey was conducted June 15 through Aug. 15, 2012, and included 242 NACE employer-member organizations.
