US – Modis Lists Hot US Cities for IT Jobs

January 22, 2013

Modis, an information technology staffing division of Adecco S.A., listed hot U.S. cities for IT job growth in 2013. The list was based on job availability and trends seen through Modis’ branch network.

Traditional technology hubs such as San Francisco and New York posted growth, according to Modis. However, it also reported a trend of more Midwestern cities seeing increases in IT jobs. Those Midwestern cities included Minneapolis, St. Louis and Omaha.

Here is the list of hot U.S. cities for IT jobs:

  1. San Francisco (and surrounding Bay Area)
  2. Washington
  3. Minneapolis
  4. St. Louis
  5. New York
  6. Charlotte, N.C.
  7. Boston
  8. Los Angeles
  9. Denver
  10. Raleigh, N.C.
  11. Omaha

“It’s very encouraging to see so many areas of opportunity across the country, particularly for those mid-level professionals that faced cutbacks during the recession,” said Jack Cullen, president of Modis. “Now is the time for job seekers to take advantage of these areas of growth when deciding the next steps for their careers.”
