Report Lists Top Occupations for Staffing Growth

January 09, 2013

The top three niche growth occupations for staffing firms are personal care aides, home health aides and physical therapists, according to the 2013 Staffing Occupational Markets Guidebook by Staffing Industry Analysts.

“We assembled a list of 32 occupations that have attributes that may make them an attractive niche market for staffing firms to achieve growth,” said Research Analyst Timothy Landhuis. “These attributes include estimated annual temp payroll above $100 million nationwide, temp penetration rate above 1 percent, and 10-year job growth forecast above the national average.”

The estimated annual temp payroll for personal care aides is $240 million with forecast 10-year growth in temp payroll of 70.5 percent.

For the home health aide occupation, estimated temp payroll will jump by 69.4 percent over the next 10 years. Temp payroll for physical therapist jobs will rise by 39.0 percent.

“However, this represents merely one way to strategically screen the market size data contained in our 2013 Staffing Occupational Markets Guidebook, which contains detailed profiles on the staffing market for 532 occupations in the United States,” Landhuis said.
