Index of Staffing Prices Edges Up Over Year

July 13, 2012

The U.S. producer price index for employment services rose to a reading of 125.8 in June, up 0.3 percent from the same month last year, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that was not seasonally adjusted. However, the size of year-over-year increases in the index have gotten smaller since April.

The index tracks the change in price received by service producers over time. The change in price is measured from the perspective of the seller.

The employment services industry includes employment placement agencies, temporary help services, executive search services and professional employer organizations.

Employment services is just one industry tracked by producer price indexes.
