Express: Hiring Outlook Is Increasing

July 05, 2012

Hiring for commercial and light industrial jobs should increase in the third quarter, according to the third-quarter hiring trends survey of employers that was conducted by Express Employment Professionals.

Thirty-seven percent of the 665 U.S. and Canadian employers surveyed said they planned new hires for commercial and light industrial jobs, according to the survey. This is up 5 percent from the second-quarter survey.

“We have clients who are experiencing increased production, and the survey results are indicative of what we are seeing in the marketplace,” said Express Chairman and CEO Robert Funk. “Employers are adding to their workforce.”

The survey also found that 18 percent of employers planned to add administrative and office/clerical staff in the third quarter. Seven percent planned to hire for accounting and finance, 8 percent planned to hire for engineering positions and 5 percent planned to hire marketing and information technology specialists.
