March 05, 2008

Fewer chief financial officers plan to add staff in the second quarter of 2008 compared with the first while more chief information officers intend to add personnel, according to results from two surveys done by Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI).

A Robert Half survey of 1,400 CFOs across the United States found that 9% plan to add staff in the second quarter while 5% expect cuts. The net increase of 4% is down two points from Robert Half's first-quarter survey of CFOs. Most respondents, 85%, did not forecast any changes.

However, a survey of 1,400 CIOs by Robert Half, revealed that 14% plan to add information technology staff while 2% forecast reductions. The net 12% increase is up from the net 10% increase forecast for the first quarter.
