The Caldwell Partners International Inc. (TSX: CWL.A), a Canadian executive search firm, said net earnings fell 34.0% to C$211,912 (US$216,577) in its fiscal second quarter ended Feb. 29, 2008. In the same period last year, it posted net earnings of C$321,134. The company said its legal fees increased because of a shareholder claim, but it expects its insurer will ultimately cover the majority of the costs.

Operating revenue at the company fell 9.2% in the second quarter to C$3.5 million (US$3.6 million) from C$3.8 million in the same period in the previous year.
