Wanted Technologies estimates the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will announce a loss of 167,000 jobs in September when it releases U.S. nonfarm payrolls on Oct. 2. Nonfarm payrolls had fallen by 216,000 in August, according to the BLS.

The firm estimates a loss of 7,000 jobs in transportation and warehousing, a loss of 7,700 in finance and insurance and a gain of 29,200 in healthcare.

Wanted's forecast is based, in part, on a weekly measure of online job ads.
