London-based professional staffing company Empresaria Group PLC is buying 56% of Marketing y Promociones Limitada, a Chilean staffing firm that operates under the brand name Alternattiva. The Chilean firm specializes in sales and marketing staff. It will have estimated 2007 net fee income of 1.6 billion Chilean pesos (US$3.1 million). The deal marks Empresaria's first move into South America.

Empresaria will pay GBP1 million (US$2.1 million) with up to GBP1 million more based on 2008 performance. Alternattiva management will keep the remaining 44% stake in the firm. The deal is dependent on a legal restructuring of Alternattiva's operation.
