Randstad fund invests in game-based career search platform

Randstad Holding nv invested in gamification career search platform Pymetrics through its Randstad Innovation Fund. The platform uses big data, neuro-science and gamification to help jobseekers with personal career and job recommendations.

The investment seeks to accelerate the development and go-to-market of Pymetrics. Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., and Khosla Ventures also participated in the Series A financing.

“Pymetrics is at the forefront of data science which gives graduates and job seekers powerful insights into their career and job opportunities,” said Paul Jacquin, managing partner at Randstad Innovation Fund. “Quality of hire and diversity greatly benefit from an unbiased understanding of a person’s profile.”

“Pymetrics looks to revolutionize talent management with the application of technologies,” said Pymetrics Co-founder and CEO Frida Polli. “The support of Randstad Innovation Fund both financially and as thought leader in the HR tech space is important to help us achieve our mission towards better diversity and career fit enabled by data science.”

The Randstad Innovation Fund launched in 2014 and is building a portfolio of early-stage HR technology investments. The fund has invested in other portfolio companies include Checkster, RolePoint, RiseSmart, Brazen, VONQ/Qandidate, twago, Gigwalk and most recently HR management platform Crunchr.
