TRU Staffing Partners launches cybersecurity division with acquisition

September 16, 2015

TRU Staffing Partners, a New York-based search firm serving the legal technology industry, acquired Kennett Group and launched a new division, TRU Cyber, to provide cybersecurity, data privacy and information security staffing.

Kennett Group — a boutique search firm targeting privacy, cybersecurity, data analytics and legal technology — was based in Philadelphia, but the brand will not remain.

The transaction closed Aug 31; terms were not disclosed.

Jeff Scarpitti, founder and managing principal of the Kennett Group, joined TRU as partner and president of the new TRU Cyber division. Scarpitti, a former attorney, is a frequent moderator, speaker and author on hiring strategies and attorney development in the privacy and data security space. He will remain based in Philadelphia.

“Jeff is a gifted recruiter who will elevate and expand TRU’s capabilities, enhance our already rigorous commitment to customized career consultation and deepen our internal subject-matter expertise,” said TRU Staffing Partners founder and CEO Jared Coseglia. “TRU’s acquisition of the Kennett Group and formation of the TRU Cyber division will formalize our commitment and accelerate our ability to effectively represent thousands of cybersecurity professionals with hundreds of job openings across multiple continents, just as TRU has successfully done in the e-discovery space for more than five years.”

TRU Cyber will provide staffing to corporations, law firms and consultancies. The TRU Cyber division will provide niche expertise in technologies like Palantir, RedOwl, Teradata, NLP, Hadoop, Tableau and more.

TRU Staffing Partners has more than 10 employees nationwide and 50 to 100 contractors on assignment at any given time. Its nationwide footprint also includes China, Japan, Brussels, Germany and the UK.
