Randstad fund invests in online recruitment marketing firm

November 04, 2014

Randstad Holding nv invested in VONQ and Qandidate.com through its Randstad Innovation Fund; Dutch investment company Qmulus is a co-investor. This is the fourth investment for the fund, which Randstad launched in March. Its other investments include Gigwalk, twago and RolePoint.

“With this investment we are able to anticipate on two emerging trends in the recruitment marketing space,” said Linda Galipeau, member of the executive board. “On the one hand we see that large companies show a stronger demand for more sophisticated recruitment marketing campaigns and techniques to find and attract the best talent, while on the other hand we see the demand from SMEs for a free recruitment functionality with an intelligent in-system media webshop to create and activate their online recruitment campaigns.”

Headquartered in The Netherlands, VONQ provides recruitment data and insights, tools and recruitment marketing information. It is Europe’s largest provider for online recruitment marketing services, according to Randstad. VONQ has more than 50 employees and operates from offices in London, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

“This minority investment will help us scale faster on a global level and expand our recruitment marketing services,” said Wouter Goedhart, co-founder and CEO VONQ. “With thousands of media channels in our portfolio, we are able to bring any vacancy in front of the right target audience. This investment will help us to scale our business online and to open offices outside of our home territory.”

In 2013 VONQ launched Qandidate.com, a free recruitment platform that allows users to set up a career site in the clients’ own corporate identity, market the vacancies to job sites and social media and track the applicants. So far, more than 7,000 companies worldwide have signed up for Qandidate.com, according to the company.

“We are extremely excited about this opportunity. This investment will boost our growth and innovation-power,” said Remy Verhoeven, co-founder and CEO Qandidate.com. “It’s a crucial step in VONQ and Qandidate.com’s growth strategy.”
