Demand from companies outside Spain to hire Spanish information and communications technology professionals rose 20 percent during the first half of 2013, compared with the same period last year, according to analysis by online job site, Ticjob.es.
Most of the offers are come from European Union countries such as Ireland, Belgium, Germany and Andorra. Spanish professionals are also increasingly sought after to work in Latin America, predominately in Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru. Demand is also coming from Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the U.S.
"European companies are aware that Spain is, at present, an ideal place to look for professionals, and highly skilled technical workers abound for positions that require a high level of expertise and salaries are more competitive in Spain than in other European countries,” said Maximilien de Coster, CEO of Ticjob.es. "This may be a good opportunity for those mobile professionals interested in receiving more recognition for their skills."
There are a variety of profiles sought after, although the most requested are SAP and Business Intelligence consultants and developers in banking technologies.
Of the candidates who are currently registered on Ticjob, a high percentage (75 percent) choose to stay in Spain to work. Of those looking to work abroad, 25 percent are willing to go outside of Spain, regardless of the destination. The prime destination for 80 percent of candidates willing to work abroad is the United Kingdom, followed by Germany, Latin America and France.
