Randstad’s global CEO to step down

Randstad CEO Ben Noteboom will step down from his post as CEO of the firm and his position on the company’s executive board on Feb. 28. He will be replaced as CEO and chairman by Jacques van den Broek.

Netherlands-based Randstad ranks as the world’s second-largest staffing firm. It has multiple divisions, but it also ranks as the third-largest information technology staffing firm in the U.S. with an estimated $1.06 billion in U.S. IT staffing revenue in 2012.

Noteboom first joined Randstad in 1993, and first took over the CEO role on an interim basis in September 2002.

The company appointed him CEO and chairman of the executive board in March 2003.

Noteboom appears on Staffing Industry Analysts’ Global Staffing 100 list.

“It is an honor to lead a company with such strong core values, with such great and dedicated people with whom we have created a world leader in our field,” Noteboom said. “I take pride in saying that we are now in excellent shape to hand over the leadership to Jacques, in whom I have the fullest confidence.”

Noteboom’s successor, Jacques van den Broek, is currently responsible for several European markets, including the U.K., Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. He also oversees business in the Middle East, Randstad’s Yacht operations and Global Client Solutions.

Van den Broek will initially be appointed to the CEO role for a four-year term.

Van den Broek first joined the company in 1988 as a branch manager. During his tenure at Randstad, his accomplishments include leading the integration of major operations after merger with Vedior, which finalized in 2008. Randstad and Vedior ranked among the largest staffing firms in the world separately before joining together. Van den Broek became a member of the executive board in January 2004.

In addition to the CEO change, Randstad also reported that Chris Heutink will join the executive board. Heutink is general manager of Randstad The Netherlands.

Randstad also announced initiatives to improve performance in its U.S. professional staffing business as well as changes in management, including the departure of Dan Foley, president of Randstad US, Professionals.
