Volt Information Sciences CEO steps down

Volt Information Sciences Inc. (NYSE MKT: VISI) President and CEO Ron Kochman resigned, effective immediately, to pursue other opportunities, the company announced June 25. The board appointed Chairman Michael Dean as interim president and CEO. Dean will also continue to serve as chairman.

Kochman joined the New York-based firm in 1987 and served in several executive capacities. He was senior VP of strategic planning before becoming president and CEO in 2012. Kochman led the sale of ProcureStaff to IQNavigator in January 2014, and he is listed on The Staffing 100 list of most influential people in the staffing industry.

“I am very proud of my time with the company and my accomplishments as its CEO,” Kochman said. “It has been my pleasure to work with the team, and I am confident that the company is well-positioned for future growth as it continues to execute on its business plan.”

Dean joined Volt’s board as chairman in May 2015. He most recently was CEO and a board member of Nature’s Sunshine Products Inc., a global health and wellness company. Prior to that, he was CEO of Mediaur Technologies Inc., a privately held satellite technology company that provides proprietary antenna system solutions for commercial and government applications. Earlier, Dean was executive VP of ABC Cable Networks Group, a global division of The Walt Disney Company, and a strategy consultant with Bain & Company.

“We are fortunate to have an executive of Michael’s caliber step in to lead the company,” John Rudolf said on behalf of Volt’s board. “Michael’s many years of leadership experience will be invaluable to us, and will ensure a smooth transition period.

”Volt last month revamped its board composition and committee assignments per an agreement with shareholder group Glacier Peak Capital LLC and its affiliates. And in March the company named Reader’s Digest exec Paul Tomkins as CFO.
