Year-over-year aggregate revenue growth among IT staffing firms was 15 percent in May, according to the latest monthly Pulse Survey released by Staffing Industry Analysts.

Total global spend on information technology will rise 2 percent in 2013 to $3.72 trillion, technology research and advisory firm Gartner Inc. reported on July 2. However, the projected growth rate was reduced from an earlier estimate of 4.1 percent.


Accenture estimates slower growth for year

Accenture plc (NYSE: ACN) cut projected revenue growth for its fiscal year ending Aug. 31, the company announced. It now expects revenue to grow between 3 percent and 4 percent in local currency; that’s down from an earlier estimate in the lower half of a range of 5 percent to 8 percent.


Capgemini taps North American exec as CTO

UK probes competition among IT services providers

Information and communication technology services providers that serve the U.K.’s public sector are coming under a microscope. The U.K. government’s Office of Fair Trading put out a “call for information” on July 3 to check on whether a lack of competition exists.


Stefanini acquires firm’s IT staffing operations

Stefanini, a global IT services firm, acquired RCG Staffing, the IT recruiting and staffing division of Edison, N.J.-based RCG Global Services Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.


Texas agency signs NTT Data deal

The Texas Department of Transportation reported it signed a deal with NTT Data to privatize portions of its information technology functions. The agency said its present IT workers may be retained by the department or will be offered positions with NTT Data for at least six months.
