HotelEngine.com offers businesses better rates than leading sites — Sponsor Content

Travelers Haven, the largest supplier of temporary housing to the healthcare industry in the nation, recently announced the official launch of their hotel booking platform, HotelEngine.com.

Hotel Engine is a free, members-only site that gives businesses and their travelers access to negotiated hotel rates. An analysis by Travelers Haven found that a Hotel Engine membership reduced the average hotel spend for clients by 10 to 15 percent.1

Small to medium businesses pay 45 percent more per room night

A recent study by Concur showed that small- and medium-sized businesses paid an average of $136 per room night versus $94 for large businesses, equating to a 45 percent premium on hotels.2 According to Concur, the difference was attributed to the fact that smaller companies are unable to negotiate the same agreements with major hotel chains that larger companies can.

Elia Wallen, President of Travelers Haven and Hotel Engine, said, “Business owners and travel coordinators alike want to reduce hotel spend, but without volume to negotiate for better rates, your company may end up paying a small business premium.”

Recognizing the need for a better hotel booking platform, Wallen created Hotel Engine to give businesses negotiated rates and personalized customer service. “By joining Hotel Engine, companies can immediately reduce hotel spend with our negotiated member rates, regardless of their size.”

Travelers spend more on the same hotel rooms

Despite increasing T&E costs, many business travelers continue to book their hotels on the same travel agency websites or direct through hotel providers. With the launch of HotelEngine.com, staffing industry professionals have the ability to reduce costs by accessing negotiated rates.

The Denver Post recently investigated Hotel Engine’s savings claims and reported that Hotel Engine returned lower prices than the commonly used public travel sites.3 Similar rate comparison tests have shown that leading travel sites were up to 37 percent more expensive than Hotel Engine on rooms with the same terms.

In addition to dedicated account managers, Hotel Engine has a guaranteed rate policy. If a client finds a public-facing room rate elsewhere with comparable terms, Hotel Engine will refund the difference.

Stay now, pay later with direct bill

Hotel Engine is the only self-managed business travel program to offer direct bill for the healthcare industry. This service enables staffing agencies to consolidate their hotel payment into one monthly invoice. Travel Coordinators can efficiently track and manage hotel expenses by exporting travel data into .csv files, and leadership teams can view the monthly hotel spend in a single snapshot.

Earn rewards on every booking

A 2013 Deloitte study showed that 41 percent of high-frequency travelers belong to more than four or more loyalty programs,4 reducing their ability to fully take advantage of any one program. With Hotel Engine’s Member Rewards, travelers earn up to 3 percent back, regardless of the hotel chain they choose. Points are redeemable at any time and have no blackout dates or restrictions.
