Interest in travel nursing positions in decline — Promoted

StaffDNA released its Candidate Blueprint Index (CBI) for quarter two, which provides real-time data detailing the employment preferences of healthcare candidates nationwide. Data is obtained from a sample of 2,000 nursing and allied health professionals who registered via the StaffDNA platform during April through June 2015. Candidates have the option to select multiple employment preferences, including state and job type.

Interest in permanent nursing positions increased 4% during the second quarter of 2015 compared to the first quarter of the year, while interest in travel positions has declined by 4%. Additionally, two of the top five states preferred by applicants have changed since the previous quarter, with Pennsylvania and Arizona replacing New York and North Carolina for the 4th and 5th positions. The concentration percentage decreased by nearly 20% for the top five states, indicating that professionals are interested in work opportunities in various regions of the US.

For the second quarter of 2015 candidates sought the following job types:

  • Permanent (36%)
  • Per Diem (24%)
  • Local Contracts (23%)
  • Travel/Temporary (17%)

The Top 5 states for employment were:

  • Texas (15%)
  • California (14%)
  • Florida (13%)
  • Pennsylvania (7%)
  • Arizona (6%)
