AMN announces VP of education and new CIO

AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AHS) hired Dr. Brenda Fischer as vice president of education and professional advancement. The San Diego-based healthcare staffing provider also promoted Jeanette Sanchez to chief information officer.

The job will include consulting with clients to identify emerging workforce needs.

Prior to AMN, Fischer founded the Center for Nursing Excellence, a think tank and action center at Palomar Health. She was also appointed a commissioner in May for the Commission on Accreditation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The new chief information officer, Sanchez, joined AMN in April 2013 as senior vice president of information technology. Prior to AMN, Sanchez held leadership roles in strategic planning, governance, large-scale technology modernization and business transformation events with various Fortune 500 companies.
