Adecco’s North American medical and science staffing revenue rose 9 percent year over year in the second quarter on a constant currency basis. Overall medical and science revenue fell 6 percent in constant currency in the second quarter — the segment represents 2 percent of Adecco’s global revenue in the second quarter or €98.6 million (US$128.3 million).

Adecco ranks No. 12 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2013 list of largest U.S. healthcare staffing firms.

The company reported medical and science revenue fell 18 percent in the Nordic countries on a constant currency basis and 23 percent in France, also on a constant currency basis.

Total global second-quarter revenue at Adecco, including all business lines, fell 3 percent on a constant currency basis to €4.93 billion (US$6.41 billion). Gross margin improved to 17.9 percent from 17.7 percent in the same quarter last year.
