Sixty‐three percent of staffing firms either offer no medical insurance at all or only offer unsubsidized insurance, possibly with the advantages of group coverage but entirely paid for by the temporary worker, according to a survey conducted by Staffing Industry Analysts.

• Companies that provide primarily information technology workers offer the most generous healthcare coverage to their temps. Sixty-one percent offer subsidized coverage; 53 percent offer the same coverage as their internal staff.
• Companies that specialize in industrial staffing are least generous; 19 percent offer subsidized coverage. Sixty-seven percent provide unsubsidized coverage.
