There were 3.6 million job openings in August, essentially unchanged compared to July, according to seasonally adjusted numbers released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, the number of job opening is up 13.0 percent.
The number of hires rose 2.6 percent from the previous month, and the number of separations rose 6.5 percent.
