U.S. workers earn median of $695 a week

Full-time workers in the United States had median weekly earnings of $695 in the third quarter of 2007, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. This is 3.0% higher than a year ago.

Full-time workers over 25 year of age without a high school diploma had median weekly earnings of $422, compared with $610 for high school graduates. Those with at least a bachelor's degree reported a median wage of $1,088 a week.

Women had median weekly earnings of $616 per week, or 80.3% of the $767 median for men.
