Top hiring companies: Healthcare in lead

Healthcare was the top hiring industry in February, according to the U.S. employment outlook report released this week by jobs website Simply Hired. The report listed the top hiring companies in 25 major metropolitan markets based on Simply Hired’s own data.

Here are the top hiring companies by market with number of job openings on Simply Hired:

  • Atlanta: Northside Hospital, 837 jobs
  • Boston: Massachusetts General Hospital, 1,165 jobs
  • Charlotte, N.C.: Carolinas Healthcare System, 1,934 jobs
  • Chicago: Sears Holdings, 699 jobs
  • Cleveland and Akron, Ohio: McDonald’s, 581 jobs
  • Dallas: Baylor Health Care System, 2,985 jobs
  • Denver: HealthONE, 1,342 jobs
  • Detroit: General Motors, 1,023 jobs
  • Houston: HCA Healthcare, 736 jobs
  • Los Angeles: Starbucks, 1,225 jobs
  • Miami: University of Miami, 995 jobs
  • Minneapolis and St. Paul: UnitedHealth Group, 1,819 jobs
  • New York: Accenture, 916 jobs
  • Orlando, Fla.: Adventist Health System, 725 jobs
  • Philadelphia: Marten Transport, 1,339 jobs
  • Phoenix: Banner Health, 1,220 jobs
  • Pittsburgh, Penn.: PNC Bank, 318 jobs
  • Portland, Ore.: Intel, 704 jobs
