Hiring in both the manufacturing and service sectors will increase slightly in November compared to the same month last year, according to the leading indicators of national employment report released today by the Society for Human Resource Management.
The report’s survey found that 45.7 percent of manufacturing firms will hire while 12.1 percent reduce their workforce for a net increase of 33.6 percent. That compares to a net increase of 27.3 percent in November 2011.
In addition, a net of 33.7 percent of service-sector companies will add jobs in November. That compares to a net increase of 17.3 percent in November 2011.
Data for this report is collected through a monthly survey of human resource executives at more than 500 manufacturing and 500 service-sector firms. View the survey page at the SHRM website here.
