Sixty percent of small businesses and 74 percent of enterprises say new hires need basic or significant training and guidance, according to a study released today from BMO Bank of Montreal. New hires in the construction and retail sectors are most likely to require training, at 73 percent and 70 percent respectively.
Thirty-eight percent of small businesses reported that new hires require basic training while 22 percent of small businesses stated new hires require significant training and guidance.
Among large corporations, 47 percent said new hires need basic training and 27 percent said new hires need significant training.
The report was conducted via Pollara with a sample of 500 Canadian business owners.
