Hawaii posted the biggest year-over-year percent increase in “employment services” industry jobs in November among 35 states tracked and the District of Columbia, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that was not adjusted for seasonality. The number of employment services jobs rose by 16.0 percent in Hawaii to 20,300 in November from the same month a year ago.
The employment services industry includes temporary help services as well as employment placement agencies, executive search services and professional employer organizations.
Maryland posted the second-largest year-over-year percent increase of 14.5 percent to 48,200 employment services jobs.
At the other end of the spectrum, the number of employment services jobs in Ohio fell by 7.1 percent to 118,800.
