Florida added 17,900 jobs in the “employment services industry” in March when compared with the same month last year, an increase of 11.6 percent, according to data released Friday by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. The data was not seasonally adjusted. Employment services jobs totaled 171,900 in March. The number of employment services jobs rose by 2.2 percent in March when compared with February.
The employment services category includes temporary help services as well as employment placement agencies, executive search services and professional employer organizations.
Florida added 10,800 jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis in March from February for a total of 7.3 million jobs, according to seasonally adjusted number for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The state’s unemployment rate fell to 9.0 percent in March from 9.4 percent in February.
