Adecco, Randstad, ManpowerGroup top list of largest global staffing firms

October 16 2013

Adecco retains its position as the world’s largest staffing firm, followed by Randstad and then ManpowerGroup, the same order as last year, according to the newly released list of largest global staffing firms by Staffing Industry Analysts. The top three firms have a 17 percent market share.

The 119 firms that made the list had annual revenues in access of $300 million and represent 45 percent of the market. The U.S. had the largest number of staffing firms on the list with 49, followed by the U.K. with 21 and Japan with 11.

“Staffing remains a highly fragmented industry,” said John Nurthen, Staffing Industry Analysts’ executive director, international development. “Other than the top 10 firms on the list, no company has more than a 1 percent global market share. Our 2013 list also included 17 new companies, and nine companies from 2012 dropped off the list.”

Former Adecco Manager and currently a Kelly Services Manager

Kim Ko. 08/22/2014 08:38 pm

I find this study quite interesting. I worked for Adecco as a partnered on site manager and they were THE WORST company I have EVER worked for. They BARELY offer any training. Their motto should be sink or swim. I couldn't work for such a group of unprofessional, arrogant, idiotic people so I interviewed with Kelly Services and as soon as I was hired I quit Adecco. I even increased my salary by $15,000.00. Kelly Services has been the best, most professional, well trained company I have ever worked for. They take the time to train you on every aspect of your position. Adecco may be ranked #1 globally but they can NEVER compare to Kelly Services when it comes to treating and training their employees properly in order to ensure client success rates. They are definitely #1 in my eyes and any of you reading this many want to consider them as a potential employer of you'd like to be happy in your career while being compensated very well. But my overall happiness with their company and how they treat their employees is priceless.
