Jobless four-week average edges down

In the week ended Aug. 30, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial unemployment claims was 444,000, the U.S. Department of Labor reported. The four-week moving average was 438,000, a decrease of 3,250, or 0.7%, from the previous week's revised average of 441,250.
