Nevada again posts highest jobless rate

Nevada registered the highest jobless rate among all states in June at 14.2%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. It was the second month in a row Nevada posted the highest unemployment rate among states.

Canadian leading index rises in June

Canada's composite leading index rose 1.0% in June with growth in manufacturing, Statistics Canada reported today.

The agency also revised upward gains in April and May to 1.1% in each month.

U.S. average hourly earnings up over year

Average hourly earnings rose to $19.00 in June 2010 from $18.57 in June 2009 for private sector production employees and nonsupervisory employees in service-providing industries, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. On a month-over-month basis, June 2010's earnings were unchanged.
