Editor’s Letter: European Staffing 100 issue

When the Staffing Industry Analysts editorial team shaped the Staffing 100 concept in 2011, we wanted to give the industry its very own identity — a definitive list that people would be proud to be a part of. The idea has caught on. Now, I am proud to present the very first European issue of Staffing Industry Review, featuring the 2014 Staffing 100 representing Europe.

Computing influence — industry apart — is always tricky. The Staffing 100 is not a ranking. It’s a subjective list, a shout-out to people we think have made a difference to the world of work. Of course, financial criteria are important, but it is not the only measure of one’s influence. As we discuss in the feature, there are those who sway the market thanks to their influence over some piece of legislation that has altered the industry, for example. Others have changed how we view and engage talent.

This issue of Staffing Industry Review magazine is breaking ground on another front: it will be distributed at the first European Staffing Industry Analysts Executive Forum, in London this autumn. This issue contains some of the same columns as seen in its sister publication. Going forward, we hope this becomes a tradition of featuring the list in the magazine and distributing it at the Executive Forum in Europe. Thank you for your support.

As always, the SIA team is happy to help with any staffing-related questions or issues you may have. Just email us or stop off in person at the Executive Forum in London. We look forward to seeing you there.
