Branching Out

Making the sales numbers is dependent on a variety of factors

Question:

How much should I expect a typical branch to generate in sales?

Answer:

The short answer is that median sales per branch is $4.4 million. However, there is a wide range around that and it really depends on segment mix. A typical IT branch has sales of $7.6 million, whereas an office/clerical branch would have sales closer to $3 million.

Corporate members can get the full details from our 2011 Staffing Companies Survey. But a word of caution. Be careful about tasking your branch members on this kind of data because there are many variable factors that affect sales, like branch location, age of the branch, employees and compensation structure. There is no one size fits all.
