Tech job growth eases in September, PEO says

Technology job growth slowed in September, according to a report by TriNet, a professional employer organization based in San Leandro, Calif. Net technology job growth was 0.79 percent in September, down from 1.37 percent in August. Net growth is new hires minus terminations. Data for the report comes from TriNet’s customer base.

The Atlanta area posted the strongest job growth among all technology hubs with net growth of 23.31 percent.

Here are the five technology hubs tracked by TriNet based on net job growth:

  1. Atlanta: 3.31 percent
  2. Denver-Boulder, Colo.: 1.69 percent
  3. Los Angeles: 1.55 percent
  4. New York: 1.10 percent
  5. San Francisco Bay Area: 0.45 percent

While Atlanta may have posted the strongest growth, the San Francisco Bay Area still recorded the highest average tech salary in September at $118,708. Here is a list of average tech wage in the five hubs:
